+FMX Electric Motion
The FMX’s electric motion platform and wrap-around visual offer multi-million dollar realism at a price any flight school can afford. With a training environment this realistic, it’s no surprise over 20 aviation authorities have approved the FMX, including theFAAandEASA. Plus, it’ll fit in a normal classroom or the corner of your hangar without any special electric requirements.
Does Motion Matter?
We know from firsthand experience at our flight training laboratory, Skyport, that motion does matter, and for some less than obvious reasons. Pilots that learn primary flight skills in a device that provides accurate motion feedback transition to the real aircraft in less time because they know what it “feels like” to fly. They are less anxious in the cockpit, have better touch on the controls, and know why you need right rudder in the climb. Interestingly, having a full motion simulator might be even more important for the flight school. At the end of the day, a flight school is a business that lives or dies by how many new customers it can acquire and how many current customers it can keep. The FMX has proven to be a huge marketing and customer retention advantage for the hundreds of schools that operate one. Motion: Good for Training, Good for Business.
Motion For Everyone
The Redbird FMX comes equipped with our innovative, 3-axis, electric motion platform. This one-of-a-kind system provides effective motion feedback for yaw, pitch, and roll. The system is clean and quiet enough to operate in a small classroom, but robust enough to stand-up to years of hard use in a large professional pilot academy.
The Redbird FMX
In the past, simulators have been used almost exclusively for instrument instruction and a single screen was all you needed to show the runway when the student broke out at minimums. But why limit your customers' training and your profit if you don’t have to? The Redbird FMX is a great primary training platform, thanks in large part to its expansive visual displays. You can still put’em in the soup if needed, but accurately simulating VFR flights opens up a huge range of uses for the FMX. Let a student practice turns-around-a-point or show them the highway they’ll pass over on their long cross-country. With a world-wide terrain database to support the 200°visuals, the FMX lets your customers experience the view from the cockpit before they ever leave the ground.
Dozens Of Airplanes
Gone are the days when every aircraft in the fleet had the same avionics package. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could offer a simulator for every type and panel in your fleet without needing to spend a few hundred thousand dollars? We thought so too, that’s why we designed our innovative, quick-change aircraft configuration system. In less than 10 minutes, your instructors can switch the FMX from a 172 with analog gauges to a SR22 Perspective to a Baron 58 with a 430/530, or any of the 30+ aircraft configurations we offer. From the latest in glass panel technology to the old 6-pack and lots of GPS/Radio stacks in between, the FMX can meet just about any need.
Community
We’ve built a range of services to help you get the most out of your simulator and make your business more successful while delivering high-quality training to your customers. Not only do you get access to the latest Redbird advancements, you’ll become a member an active group of like-minded flight training professionals. No other aviation manufacturer can match the level of support and community provided by Redbird.
Loggable Time, Valuable Training
We are firm believers in simulation-centric training and we know the value of the FMX far outpaces the loggable hours, at the end of the day, we all want credit for our work. That’s why we made sure the FMX can be certified in just about any country. The FAA has approved it as an Advanced Aviation Training Device, it meets the requirements for EASA FNTP qualification, and over 20 other authorities recognize the value of training in the FMX.
